Hi All,  I got my GP2X yesterday. I am new to GP2X. I have a question regarding closing the emulators and restarting GP2X. The games are running fine. But most of the emulators    doesnt provide exit option. Once i get into the game roms, i have no way of exiting the game without resetting my GP2X.

Can resetting GP2X often cause any problems to GP2X? I guess its like pulling your PC's power card while the OS is still running right?

Hi there and welcome to the forums!  Grin

Wich emulators are you using? Because every other emulator has his own way of getting out of the game.
Like Squidgesnes: Pressing both shouldbuttons and Start/Select at the same time.

Resetting your GP2X doesn't brick anything at all.
Even if it happens (what I never had before) you could allways reinstall the firmware. Smiley

No problem turning the gp2x off. You can't damage anything by that. It's not Windows Wink

Not 100% true. If you turn off power while writing to the SD card you can damage the SD card. Your GP2x is always safe.

True, my bad.
Don't turn it off while writing to your SD.

Thanks all for the reply.

L+R
Start+Select
Vol+ + Vol-
L+R+Joy

atleast one of the above combination works for the emulators.

That's why there is a coding-standards website: http://gp2x.projectinfinity.org.uk/viewpage.php?page_id=1

But i am not sure if it's picked up by the devs...

Hmm never saw that website before...
It is a smart move.
Then again people have to stick to it, I am afraid this isn't happening yet.

Yeah, there are also 'so-called' standards for button mapping. But I think every programmer has his own way of mapping the buttons.
