Ok, we'll sort the screenshot-thing out while playing.
So it's time to dust off your brains and start thinking about what games to play.

My suggestion is to post below your favourite games:

* name of the game
   - what emulalor
   - what version ( e.g. Metal slug X)
   - maybe a link to screens or more info

When we have collected a bunch of good games, we'll make a poll and vote,
the highest scored game will be played first. New games can be added to the poll during the season. Good idea?

I have two nominees for the first round:

Vektar - http://www.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,1382

Metal Slug 5, emulated by GnGeo - http://www.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1098

Note: I have found that Metal Slug 5 is liable to freeze sometimes on my GP2X unless I run it at 266Mhz with sound.

I was thinking a hacked title, Zelda Parallel Worlds, since it came out just this week so people will be on a fairly even playing field. It's Zelda; A Link to the Past with new levels, boosted difficulty and the like. It keeps track of time so we could settle on the winner with that. It runs well on SquidgeSNES except for the fog and storm, but those don't hinder gameplay in any way.

Already recommended these, but here they are again:

1. Atari ST - Eliminator - Race Shooter http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_detail.php?game_id=87

Emulator: Outcast http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1140

2. Arcade - Tutankham - Maze Shooter http://www.allgame.com/cg/agg.dll?p=agg&sql=1:5023

Emulator: Mame http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1058

3. Nintendo NES - Clu clu land - Maze game http://www.allgame.com/cg/agg.dll?p=agg&sql=1:42865

Emulator: GPFCE http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1529

4. Genesis - Psycho Pinball - Pinball http://www.mobygames.com/game/genesis/psycho-pinball

Emulator: Picodrive http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1801

5. Homebrew - Spout - Abstract shooter http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,30,930

All these games play very well on the gp2x and will work without too much hassle.

I think there will be a poll first with the nominees. I'd probably vote for spout as well. Very easy to install and will avoid the forbidden "can't find the roms" questions.
Nice game to start the compo.

I'll suggest we have a new nominating round a week before this gaming round ends. So we can start voting for a new game a.s.a.p. and avoid another long discussion about what to do next  Wink
That should be march 14th.

We've learned a bit how this works and are probably better in choosing a game that is suited best for this compo.
