Are there any no-hassle GP2x development platforms for WinXP? I've tried two, thus far, and had nothing but error messages. I thought I was doing something wrong and went and downloaded the sample C++ code for GP2x and couldn't even get that to compile properly.

I'm still pretty new to C/C++, but I learn pretty fast when I have examples to read off and understand how things work. I'd really like to try my hand in porting over several older OpenSource programs, or even trying to enhance them a bit for GP2x only, but I've been having far too many problems.

http://dev.gp2x.com/sdk/gp2xsdk_windows.zip
If you extract this to C:\GP2XSDK\
then it should work without problems.

That one kept giving me an error message. Something like "Could not allocate space for cygwin" or something. No matter what, when I went to compile, errors every time.

the best you could do (and i did) is downloading Dev-C++ from http://www.bloodshed.net AND the official development kit from http://www.gp2x.com, then configure Dev-C++ to compile with the GP2X-Compiler (don't forget to rename to *.gpe!). It works fine to me, as long as there are no spaces in the directories (like Documents and Settings). Save your projects to a folder directly on your hard disk like C:\GP2XDEV
